See what you can cook with what you already have

Keep track of the food in your kitchen and when it expires. What's In My Pantry finds recipes that use it up, starting with whatever needs eating first.

No download needed. Works on your phone, tablet and computer.

The Cook Tonight screen: a banner listing spinach, chicken breast and mushrooms expiring in the next few days, above recipe cards such as Potato Gratin with Chicken that show which of your ingredients each recipe uses and what's missing.

Coming from Mealime?Mealime closes on October 21, 2026. Bring your recipe links and grocery list here, and keep planning the week.

How to switch

How it works

Three steps from fridge to dinner

  1. Add what you have

Type it, tap common ingredients, say it out loud or scan a barcode. Each item gets a sensible expiry date you can change.

  2. See what to cook

Recipes are ranked by what's about to expire and how few ingredients you're missing.

  3. Plan and shop

Put meals on your week and send anything missing to your shopping list in one tap.

Cook Tonight

Use it before you lose it

Tonight puts the food that's about to expire at the top, then shows recipes that use it. Every card lists what it uses from your pantry and exactly what you'd still need.

  • Filter by breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert
  • "I cooked this" takes the ingredients off your pantry
  • Hide recipes you never want to see again

Pantry

Expiry dates and a freezer that remembers

See what to use soon at a glance. Freeze something and its date moves to a freezer shelf life for that kind of food. Thaw it and it's back to a few days in the fridge.

  • Quick date buttons: +3 days, +1 week, +2 weeks
  • A separate Freezer group with good-until dates
  • Gentle warnings for foods that don't freeze well

Editing Chicken Breast: an expiry date field, quick +3d, +1w and +2w buttons, and a Freeze button noting it keeps about 9 months frozen.

Voice and barcode

Unpack the groceries in seconds

Say "a bag of apples, two cucumbers, some feta cheese and oat milk" and check the list before it's added. Or scan a barcode with your camera to look up the product, brand and nutrition facts.

  • Voice uses your browser's speech recognition where it's available, and typing always works
  • Barcode details come from Open Food Facts
  • Scan many items in a row
Say what you have: the sentence 'a bag of apples, two cucumbers, some feta cheese, a loaf of sourdough and oat milk' turned into five items to review, each with an expiry estimate.
Scan a barcode: Barilla Spaghetti found by its barcode, with nutrition per 100 g and an Add to pantry button.

Recipes

Hundreds of recipes, sorted for your kitchen

Filter by meal, cuisine and how many ingredients you're missing, or search any dish by name. Recipes from Spoonacular include calories and protein per serving. Save favorites, or import a recipe from a link.

Recipes for you: meal, missing-ingredient and cuisine filters above a section of recipes that are ready to cook with what you have.

Weekly plan

Plan the week without a spreadsheet

Add any recipe to this week, on a day or "any day". Move meals around, mark them cooked, and add everything the week needs to your shopping list, minus what you already have.

The weekly plan: an unscheduled meal plus meals for Friday and Saturday, each showing missing ingredients, with an Add missing to list button.

Shopping list

A list that knows why you need it

Each item shows the meal it's for. When you're ready to shop, the screenshot view shows your list in large, plain type, ready to screenshot for the Vons app or to print.

  • Duplicates and things you already have are skipped
  • Copy the whole list in one tap
  • Optional generic names (Spaghetti, not "Barilla n.5")
The shopping list: items like Balsamic Vinegar and Chicken Stock, each labeled with the recipe that needs it.

Household sharing

One pantry for the whole house

Invite someone with a link or a code to share one pantry, shopping list, favorites and plan. Changes show up for everyone, and little initials show who added what.

  • Merge your pantry when you join, or start fresh
  • Leave any time and keep a copy
